There has been a Swan Inn in Beaconsfield for many hundreds of years, with the original building once the grandest building in the town – catering as an overnight stop for the horse drawn coaches on the London to Oxford road.
When road and coach improvements meant the journey no longer required a stopover, the Swan Inn fell into disrepair. The current Swan has moved locations but still carries with it quite a history. The pub is situated in a building purportedly dating back to the 15th Century. Once housing 3 separate cottages, the low original ship beams add to the pubs cosy feel.
Laurie and Samantha took over The Swan in March 2008, bringing their knowledge of working for some of the biggest and best operators both at home and abroad, and blending it with a local and family feel. In this time they have built a thriving business, full of fun and laughter, attracting a wide blend of customers enjoying the fantastic drinks offering, the sumptuous food, and great atmosphere.
